PrestaShop module development

Install, configure or debug modules, resolve conflicts, or build a custom module for your workflow.

Modules make PrestaShop flexible, but they are also the most common source of conflicts. Two modules that hook into the same place, an override that is overwritten, or a module that was never updated for your version.

We install, configure and debug existing modules, and build custom modules when the market has nothing that fits your workflow, following PrestaShop's development standards.

Do you recognise this?

Situations where we help:

  • A module that does not install, or breaks the store after installation

  • Conflicts between modules, often visible in the checkout or product page

  • A module that has to be configured or connected to an external system

  • A feature or integration that no existing module offers

  • A custom module from an earlier developer that nobody can maintain anymore

How we solve it

For existing modules we trace conflicts through hooks, overrides and logs and solve them in the cleanest possible way. For custom work we first describe together what the module must do, then build it as a proper PrestaShop module: installable, configurable from the back-office and without changing core files.

That keeps your store updatable and makes the module maintainable for the future.

What's included

  • Installation and configuration of modules
  • Finding and solving module conflicts
  • Building custom modules according to PrestaShop standards
  • Integrations with external systems through APIs
  • Testing on a staging copy
  • Short documentation of configuration and use

What to expect

From your first message to a tested fix in your live store: every step is clear, and nothing changes in your store before you have approved the quote.

  1. 01

    You describe the situation

Send your store URL, PrestaShop version and what you see: error messages, screenshots, when it started and what changed recently. The more context, the faster we can narrow it down.

  2. 02

    We diagnose first

We look at the modules involved, their hooks and overrides, or for custom work we write down the exact requirements together with you.

  3. 03

    You get a fixed quote

You receive a short explanation of the cause, the proposed solution and a fixed price. Nothing is changed in your store until you approve it.

  4. 04

We do the work on a copy

The module or fix is built and tested on a staging copy, including the parts of the store it touches.

  5. 05

    Go live and report

After a backup we deploy the change to your live store, check the important flows again and send a short report of what was done and what to watch.

  6. 06

    Questions afterwards

Have a question about the report, or do you notice something after going live? Just reply. We look into it and tell you what it is and what it takes.

Frequently asked questions

Can you adjust a module I bought?

Often yes, preferably through an override or hook so the module can still be updated. We check the licence terms of the module first.

Who owns a custom module?

We agree on that in the quote, so it is clear before the work starts.

Will a custom module survive PrestaShop updates?

We build without changing core files and follow the PrestaShop standards, which makes updates much easier. Major version upgrades can still require adjustments.

Can you connect my store to another system?

Yes, for example an ERP, accounting, warehouse or marketplace, as long as that system offers an API or export.
