PrestaShop speed optimization
Faster pages and better Core Web Vitals through caching, image, database and server tuning.
A slow store loses visitors before they see a single product, and search engines take speed into account through Core Web Vitals. PrestaShop can be fast, but themes, modules, images and server settings often slow it down step by step.
We measure first, so we know where the time actually goes: server response, database queries, JavaScript, images or third-party scripts. Then we fix the biggest bottlenecks first.
Do you recognise this?
Signs that your store needs speed work:
-
Pages that take several seconds before anything appears
-
A slow back-office, especially product and order lists
-
Poor scores in PageSpeed Insights or Search Console's Core Web Vitals report
-
High server load at busy moments
-
Large images, many modules or several tracking scripts on every page
How we solve it
We profile the store and work on what has the most effect: PrestaShop's own performance settings, caching (Smarty, opcache and, where it fits, a page or object cache), database clean-up and indexes, image formats and sizes, and the loading of CSS and JavaScript.
We also look at modules that add work to every page and at server settings such as the PHP version. Every change is measured before and after, so you can see what it brought.
What's included
- Measurement of current speed and Core Web Vitals
- Review of PrestaShop performance settings and caching
- Database clean-up (logs, carts, statistics) and index check
- Image optimisation and modern formats where supported
- Review of modules and third-party scripts that slow pages down
- Before/after report with the measured results
What to expect
From your first message to a tested fix in your live store: every step is clear, and nothing changes in your store before you have approved the quote.
- 01
You describe the situation
Send your store URL, PrestaShop version and what you see: error messages, screenshots, when it started and what changed recently. The more context, the faster we can narrow it down.
- 02
We diagnose first
We measure your key pages and the back-office, profile server response and database queries, and list the bottlenecks in order of impact.
- 03
You get a fixed quote
You receive a short explanation of the cause, the proposed solution and a fixed price. Nothing is changed in your store until you approve it.
- 04
We do the work on a copy
Changes are made and measured on a staging copy first, so we can compare the results before anything goes live.
- 05
Go live and report
After a backup we deploy the change to your live store, check the important flows again and send a short report of what was done and what to watch.
- 06
Questions afterwards
Have a question about the report, or do you notice something after going live? Just reply. We look into it and tell you what it is and what it takes.
Frequently asked questions
Will my store be faster for every visitor?
The changes improve the store itself, so all visitors benefit. How much depends on your current situation, theme, modules and hosting; that is why we measure before and after.
Do you also speed up the back-office?
Yes. A slow back-office is often caused by large database tables or heavy modules, and we include it in the measurement.
Is a faster server enough?
Sometimes it helps, but often the cause is in the store: modules, images or database tables. We tell you honestly whether hosting is the bottleneck.
Does speed affect SEO?
Page experience, including Core Web Vitals, is one of the signals search engines use. A faster store also converts better because visitors leave less often.
